What does San Francisco mean to me?

Sometimes San Francisco gets branded as this crazy place, yet I find it an incredibly open and welcoming community. It's not crazy, it's just that the people of San Francisco stepped out first and were ahead of their time, from the Haight-Ashbury days that contributed to our music and culture, to the revitalization of Ghirardelli Square long before the trend of "gentrifying" old warehouse districts became popular. The history, architecture, distinctive neighborhoods and unique personality ... what's not to love about this city by the Bay? It's such an interesting combination of people here, such a diverse microcosm. I often think that if I could tackle a social problem here and make it work, then that same solution would be successful in the rest of the world. Let me show you the San Francisco I know and love!
